The most popular variety of durian grown in Thailand-Monthong, the flesh is light yellow in color with a mild flavor and a creamy texture that improves with age.
2️⃣ Health Benefits
Durian is a high-fiber fruit and has been shown to slow skin aging, strengthen bones, and prevent constipation.
3️⃣ Ripening and consumption
Durian is a ripening fruit: if it is still greenish in color when you receive it, it will ripen naturally when stored at room temperature between 15 and 24 degrees.
The skin will turn a dark brown color, and the flavor of durian will become steamed.
When fully roasted, the skin will naturally crack slightly. At this point, you can cut along the cracks to make it easier to remove the flesh.
4️⃣ How to store
You can freeze any leftover durian after eating it, and then thaw it at room temperature for about an hour before eating to get the original fresh durian flavor. Fresh fruits are recommended to be consumed as soon as possible.
